Do you have own souvenirs from countries where you’ve been? Wherever we go, on the golden beaches in summer or climbing on the top of snowy Mountain around us many interesting things and artifacts that we could take with us home. It can be a tiny stone, letter, something that we can eat or sleeping with like teddy bear. This is my top souvenirs from volunteer workcamps in Switzerland.
I want to introduce my favorite list of gifts that I collected from my Switzerland volunteer travel.
Spongebob Squarepants
I can proudly say that this is one of my favorite souvenirs from Switzerland, that i`ve got in center for emigrants Volketswil. Every morning kids, gathering on “Zahne Putzen” hour in one of the room downstairs and clean they teeth. Every child has fancy document where they put stamp on it, if they participated in morning teeth cleaning procedure. It is very important because dental care is very expensive in Switzerland.
As a result, kids who have a paper with all stamps took different prizes from Red Cross, and on of this gift was a Spongebob Squarepants in colorful plastic box, looks like a Barbie doll, with a sand clock and two toothbrushes. I felt in love at the first sight and decided that I need this treasure for my sister.
2 Swiss Army Knifes
It is pretend to be a one of the symbols of Switzerland, but I don’t have any plans to buy it as a souvenir. However, during my volunteer vacation i`ve got two Swiss knifes, but please don`t think that I am greedy person. One of this knife i`ve got in the end of volunteer project in Volketswil, and another one gifted to me Hans, this knife is very important for me…
Coin and Art works
It is a 100?. I don’t know how called Korean money, and what can I buy for it, but it is not so important because now this is my souvenir and not money anymore. Korean boy Sang Woo presented it to me in the end of art volunteer program in Solothurn. It can be the end of the story, but there are 4 painted canvases I took when our volunteer project was over in Solothurn. Our campleader allow to us take two small or one middle canvas, I choose one middle and two big canvases, and one more little with a lucky dollar, where Lury Lee write in Korean that Dmitry likes money.
