Now this is memorial, but anyway when you stay in front of the main building and look at big clock on the tower it seems that time is frozen and you are turning back in the past. In this year the project in Ravensbrueck will continue to connect practical work and study with youth and eye-witness meetings.
Interesting study part, require to know English well.
Work:
It is planned that the group will work on the area of the women’s concentration camp. There many different tasks to be done: cleaning the area of wild growing vegetation, environmental work and investigation work.
Territory of concentration camp is quite big, so I thing they need volunteer every year.
Accommodation:
During the workcamp you will live in a youth hostel near the Ravensbrueck memorial. Shower and toilets are available.
Accommodation is excellent. Volunteer organization also providing meal, you don’t need to cook.
Bring with you:
I am recommending take with you a swimsuit, because near the territory of concentration camp very beautiful lakes. Of course sunglasses and suncream are required.
Location:
The Ravensbrueck memorial is close to the small town Fuerstenberg/Havel, situated in the north of the federal state Brandenburg about 80 km north of Berlin.
